We can source donor bikes and engines for you, build or source frames and parts, then build the whole thing to deliver your perfect machine. It’s not often we get a call asking us to hack into a brand new, fresh out the crate dealership bike, so when we do we jump at the chance. The customer wants us to take a 2017 Indian Scout and turn it into something a 1930s American would recognise as one of theirs. So we’re adding some ’30s style, handmade mudguards, Billet aluminium top yokes, a trick stainless exhaust and handmade rearset. We’d show you more, but we don’t want to ruin the surprise!

The sprung seat is surprisingly comfy, and was covered by a local upholsterers to order.

Here’s a sneak peak at our bobber prototype. The engine is an XS650, but everything else is bespoke on this test bike, built to rattle, shake and blow any issues out of the system before we start rolling the frames out. The Rusty Spoke crew have all had a hand in the build, with anything we can’t do being sourced and done locally.

Honda XR400 – Rusty Spoke Refurb

We don’t just build bikes, we can make your bike factory fresh too, be they crossers, cruisers or race bikes. This Honda XR400 has had a full ground up refurb, stripped back to the frame, re-coated and totally rebuilt by John at Rusty Spoke. This full rebuild and recommission cost the loving owner £2,000.
